Once the pads are connected to the patient’s bare chest then the information is transmitted to the defibrillator which uses an updated algorithm to determine if a shock is necessary. 

The OnSite AED voice prompt system provides “on-demand” CPR coaching to help the rescuer remember all of the steps during resuscitation efforts. The AED takes less than ten seconds to deliver a shock after pausing CPR, resulting in less wasted time.
